742 Die Welt der mächtigsten Generäle unter Zeitdruck / The World of the Mightiest Generals pressed for time
2nd play through, and first random dive into the book of worlds.
742 plays very well, with some interesting phases of play. The interim scoring seems to set the tempo for the game – initially there’s an expansion phase as everyone roams out on the board and tries to set majorities before the scoring phase. Then you all start clashing with each other and driving the fight mechanism (simple but effective), which brings the second scoring round, and then you try and reestablish control and strategically hang on to control hoping for the final scoring to arrive.
We only managed 3/4 of the game, but I suspect it plays out around the 2hr mark with 4 players.
